Learning consciousness

So, I have now registered for two Japanese classes: an evening conversation class that begins on October 4th, and a more general “Japanese for beginners” class that begins on October 18th.

The general Japanese class begins with an opening ceremony (of course!). And just in case one were tempted to blow off the opening ceremony, the flyers for this class were very specific: “any student not attending the opening ceremonies will not be demonstrating the proper learning consciousness and will be excluded from the class.” Take that!

I hope the opening ceremony involves dancing children in elaborate costumes representing peace, harmony, learning consciousness, and so forth.

Can you say, "Teacher, where is the bathroom?" in Japanese?
