The heat is on

Ha, ha, right? We haven't had a 100 degree day yet, but we have reached 100 in the heat index, so I know warmer days are coming.

Also, those tornadoes. My goodness. Last week we had our second tornado siren incident in this house (the first was when Natalie was, like, 3 days old - talk about feeling helpless as a new parent. On the heels of Tuscaloosa and Joplin, tornado sirens and the National Weather Service mentioning our small city by name really freaked me out. But all is fine here, so we're very lucky. Also, we've invested in a nice battery-operated weather radio. You know, something we should have done, oh, three years ago.

Okay, so, other than cowering in the laundry room, what have we been doing?

We took Natalie to her first baseball game. This was a TCU game, and it was faculty/staff appreciation night, so we got in for free (and sat right behind home plate, no less) coupled with half-off burger night at our favorite local place, it was my kind of cheap-o evening.Natalie has been getting ready for summer.(if the shoe fits . . . . )

Natalie is still into sorting and toting. Also, we are approaching two.I think this particular scream was caused by the fact that I'd given Natalie a large box to play with, thinking she'd crawl into it or fill it with things. But then I noticed that she had climbed up on top of it and was busily doing downward facing dog. Into the garage the box went.

And while we're on the less lovely moments, here's a pad thai action shot:Natalie's skills on the stairs continue to increase.Hugs until next time!
