The Animals

Finally on my way to feeling better, I returned to art volunteering this week.

This was our week to paint the clay animals that Jen Em had made with the students. In preparation for this (and following the amazing lesson plans left for me by Jen Em), two weeks ago we all did a lesson on color. We made color wheels, and talked about what happens when you mix colors together.

So, this week, we began with a review of color mixing, a discussion about how to make colors lighter and darker, talked about how to paint our animals so they look like the animals we intended them to, and had a review about the rules associated with painting with acrylic (permanent) paints.

The animals turned out wonderfully!
